Consultation & Training

Consultation

Working with survivors of trauma and abuse can be challenging for many mental health and medical care providers.  Doctors, social workers, therapists, and emergency personnel are often called to respond to the complex needs of victims of violence. The staff of the Sara I. and Albert G. Reuben Counseling Center is dedicated to supporting others in the community who work with survivors of trauma and abuse, through continuing education and training.

We offer a broad spectrum of consultation and training services to professionals, including customized presentations and workshops on domestic violence, sexual assault, childhood abuse, secondary traumatization, workplace violence, and other related topics of clinical concern.

Training

The Julian Center is committed to participating in the training of individuals entering in to the mental health field.  We offer training experiences to individuals actively pursuing Master’s or Doctoral level degrees in psychology, social work, and art therapy.  Training rotations are tailored based on the student’s individual training level and clinical experiences.
