Isolation…guilt…depression…fear…anger…loss…
These are the common legacies of childhood sexual, physical,
and emotional abuse. Often left alone to deal with this overwhelming
trauma, survivors develop many ways of coping - forgetting, denial,
avoidance, control, making excuses, staying busy. Difficulties
with relationships at home, school, and work often result as survivors
struggle to take care of their wounded hearts, minds, and bodies.
Currently under construction, this section will provide you with
important information on the common effects of childhood abuse,
the recovery process, self-care strategies, and support resources
for you or your clients.
