Group therapy can be an important source of support and healing for women engaged in the therapeutic process. The Julian Center offers a variety of specialized groups to meet the needs of its clients. All group members must also be engaged in their own counseling as part of the group treatment program.

Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse

This group aims to allow survivors of childhood sexual abuse to access the long-term emotional and psychological impact caused by the abuse, identify personal strengths and resources for the healing process, connect with other survivors, and formulate a long-term plan for continued healing.

For women struggling with life's many challenges, this group provides a supportive environment to address a variety of issues including relationships, low self esteem, anxiety, and depression.

This group offers a safe environment in which participants can process their experiences of rape or sexual assault.

Self Care in Intimate Relationships

As caretakers of others, women often do not know how to take care of themselves. Group members identify the ways they do not practice self-care in their significant relationships, and discover new ways of responding positively to their own needs and feelings.

This group offers women an opportunity to explore the mother-daughter bond and its powerful effect on their lives.

Midlife Transition Group

Midlife often represents a powerful time of transformation in many women's lives. The group encourages women to explore the meaning of midlife in the context of their life histories, while learning to cope with the change, loss, and continued growth this time inevitably brings.

Teen Scene: A Group for Adolescents

The teenage years often present young women with many new and difficult challenges. In this therapy group for adolescent females ages 13-18, participants gain support to address a broad range of developmental issues.

Participants in this group explore emotions and negative patterns related to abuse through experiential work including art, movement, music, poetry, and story.
