Diversity & Inclusiveness Statement:
The mission of The Julian Center was formulated with the goals of contributing to a significant reduction in the incidence of domestic violence and sexual assault, supporting survivors in healing, and to helping to break the inter-generational cycle of abuse.
These goals require a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness as a fundamental operating principle and also call for an active and ongoing process that affirms human diversity in its many forms, encompassing but not limited to:
Ethnicity
Race
Gender/Gender Identity/Gender Expression
Sexual Orientation
Age
Economic Circumstance
Class
Disability
Geography
Philosophy/Religion
We seek, promote and celebrate diversity in order to ensure that a range of perspectives, opinions and experiences are recognized and acted upon in achieving The Julian Center’s mission.
The Julian Center asks board members, staff, volunteers and supporters to make a similar commitment to diversity and inclusiveness in order to better enhance their abilities to contribute to the common good of our changing society.
Commitment
As a leading voice in the Indianapolis community‘s effort to end domestic violence, The Julian Center is committed to promoting diversity.
We are equally committed to including a wide range of perspectives, opinions, and experiences as we work to achieve our mission. To that end, we actively seek to achieve diversity in the make-up of our Board of Directors, our staff and our volunteers and provide these groups with the tools, educational programs, and opportunities required to more effectively serve the common good.
