2018 Adopt A Family
Thank you for your generosity in supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence during this winter holiday season! Living in a shelter or trying to rebuild your life after a traumatic experience can be especially taxing on survivors. We have developed this Adopt-A-Family program to ensure that all of our survivors and their children receive gifts this holiday season.
To get started, simply fill out the form below and we will be in touch with the details of the family you’ll be helping this holiday season. Please note that you’ll be asked to purchase clothing for the children in the family as well as a limited number of toys and books. Adopting a family can carry a financial commitment of $150-$200 per child and $50 for their parent.
What to expect:
- Your family’s information will be provided to you by November 16, 2018, however as we welcome new families on an almost daily basis, there will be some last minute family pairings, as needed.
- To protect client confidentiality, each survivor will be described as parent, child, or infant along with their gender and age.
- If a child has specific developmental needs we will indicate that on the donor form you receive.
- You should plan to spend $50 per parent and between $150-$200, per child.
If you would rather provide gift cards for the parent so they may shop for clothes, toys and books for their child(ren), you may indicate that on the form below. Both adopting a family and providing gift cards are very appreciated and go a long way toward making the holiday’s a bit brighter for survivors.
